St Oran’s National School Blog

Welcome to our new school blog!

St. Oran’s National School – February 2025!

Well done and thank you to our sixth class pupils who have been busy interviewing, writing and photographing for our blog update.

The new year is off to a great start in St. Oran’s NS – we celebrated Catholic Schools Week with a special assembly and hot chocolate treat, we welcomed our families into school for Grandparents’ day and Saint Brigid’s cross-making, we have been learning about being safe online and our student council ‘Digital Detox’ fundraiser made an amazing €1513.62 for our chosen charities!

We are looking forward to the mid-term break and the excitement of welcoming our new Principal Mr William Doherty when we return next week. Make sure to check out our class updates and read about all the exciting things happening in our classrooms this term!

27/10/23

Welcome back to our school blog page. We have lots of updates on what has been going on in school since we returned in September. Sixth class volunteers formed our new Blog Club and have been busy interviewing classes, writing content and taking photos for our first posts of the 2023/24 school year. Thank you to Ms Hegarty for allowing them time to write their posts and all the class teachers and pupils for taking the time to answer the questions and provide us with photos.

We hope you enjoy!

I’m New Here!

Welcome to our new school blog, a place where you can find out all about what’s going on in St. Oran’s! The idea for the blog is to provide a space to hear from our pupils about their learning and experiences in our school.

Our sixth class pupils have done an amazing job getting the blog off the ground and we are very proud to launch it online. All of the pages you read here are the result of their hard work – researching/interviewing and writing up each post so that it could be edited and then published to the blog. There was a lovely buzz around our corridors! As a school community we thank them for their efforts and wish them the very best as they move on to secondary. We will miss you all.

Please have a read through our 2022/23 round up for each class to hear first-hand about their experiences and memories. Check out our whistle-stop video tour of the school and have a listen to the boys talking all things sport at St. Oran’s on our podcast. Find out more about the initiatives our pupils have been involved in this year and maybe discover something new about our staff!

As we approach the holidays we wish all our pupils a happy and safe summer break. We look forward to welcoming you back to St. Oran’s in September – bursting with stories to tell us!
